ART is education.

long ago,
I had a high school ART teacher
who believed that creativity lived in me.
she taught me more than ART.
she taught me about
diversity,
and quiet,
and thinking bigger than my surroundings.
now,
40 years later
I have been given the opportunity
to teach high school ART.
I am full of excitement
to be with students this coming fall
and teach them about
diversity,
and quiet,
and thinking bigger than their surroundings.

Invitation:
If you are a dreamer, come in.
If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar,
A hope-er, a pray-er, a magic bean buyer…
If you’re a pretender, come sit by my fire,
For we have some flax golden tales to spin.
Come in!  Come in!
(Shel Silverstein)

  3. Hi! Followed you over from Wendy Brightbill's. What a soulful, sweet space you've created here. I can only imagine what joy you'll bring your students/co-creators--and what joy they'll bring you. I so love these full-circle moments, where a seed planted long ago is now bearing fruit. Happy for you AND your soon-to-be students!
